Intention is to run Wireguard/Headscale to access VM's on the box

Should be Static. Proxmox grabs an address via DHCP and then just makes it static during install as I understand it
If the box needs to be moved to a different IP for port forwarding just lemme know

please figure out how the address is assigned
I'd like to give it a static dhcp reservation if possible
if its doing dhcp and doesn't have a static reservation, the address could change and then the port forward would no longer work (and potentially expose a random port on another machine which gets the address assigned to it to the internet)
if its static and not a dhcp reservation, it's basically an "undocumented" static address
the worst case scenario is if it's statically assigned, not a dhcp reservation, and inside the dhcp assignment pool
that could cause an address conflict

Proxmox does a DHCP request then what ever IP is handed to it is assigned to the connected iface as a static address
Let me know what IP to change it to however and I will move it over out of the DHCP pool
EDIT: MAC address for static IP assignment

I applied a DHCP Static Reservation for this system, which will change the address:
d8:9d:67:27:c8:2c 10.213.8.75 cursedsilicon-pmx1 CursedSilicon's Proxmox Server
I port forwarded port TCP/UDP 42069 to the above IP and added an inbound allow on the WAN interface of the router for that port.

is this address statically set or a static dhcp reservation?
